Dr. Kit Tung Ip received her Bachelor of Science degree with Honours from University of Waterloo. She then pursued her Doctorate of Optometry at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts, where she graduated as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
Dr. Ip has been an important contributor to the development of specialty contact lens and dry eye clinics in the greater Boston area of Massachusetts, and now brings her experience from the prestigious Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston, a multidisciplinary eye care center, to Gordon Wood Eye Associates.
Dr. Ip is experienced in primary care optometry seeing both children and adults, and in specialty and custom contact lens fitting for high prescriptions, non satisfactory post-surgical visual outcomes or irregular corneas, prosthetics, and conventional daily contact lens wear. Her passion in specialty contact lenses and vision rehabilitation motivates her to push the boundaries of traditional methods in order to establish the best solution for those suffering from reduced vision due to barriers created by the patient’s ocular profile.
Being licensed in both Canada and the US, she is thrilled to be back in her hometown of Toronto and to serve the community she grew up in. She is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. When she is not seeing patients in clinics, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, listening to music and travelling.
